Ms. Frick's Teaching Portfolio

The Capulet Party Invitations were an enjoyable yet beneficial way to take a mid-block break from our reading of Romeo and Juliet. As a review, the students were asked to create an invitation to the upcoming feast using as many details as possible from the text. They were encouraged to make it as fun and creative as they would like, as long as they included details from the reading such as when and where it will be as well as what type of people were invited. On the back, students were asked to make a prediction about what will happen about the party. Students were eager to share their predictions afterward, and I used the invitations to decorate the classroom for the remainder of the unit.
